I am a 58 year old 10 year plus veteran student of Kate Novacks yoga classes. I attribute my health and well-being to her. Kate has given me the care, healing and tools to live a full life, despite the condition I have been diagnosed with. (a chronic degenerative bone disease). Kate’s classes are filled with love , inspiration and over all good vibes. As one student put it “you feel as though you’re floating after Kates class” so light and limber! There is something extremely special about her practices. It doesn’t matter if you are new or seasoned, young or old, full figured or tiny, male or female , everyone is cared for, welcomed and challenged to their own personal edge. Kate puts extra effort and concern not to have anyone injured or feel as though they don’t belong in the class. Try it out you will love it!
Meditation
A meditation practice is quite simply a time for reflection. Meditation is a tool used along with the breath for those moments when a person feels called to be still. Through stillness we are able to remove the veil of illusions and tap into a deeper place underneath the surface of everyday life.
It’s through a consistent meditation practice where we learn how to observe the mind, thoughts and visions that show themselves. At first we practice observation and acceptance then with time we begin to detach from the mind. Through guided meditation one can learn meditation techniques to practice on their own and potentially become more aware of what they are thinking.
The key in meditation is consistency, for in the regular practice of observation one can evolve to a place of detachment from thoughts and the outcome associated with them. and come to towards what is real.
Meditation can be practiced seated upright as well as reclining in a calm still physical state. It is most important to be comfortable. Kate has consistently been practicing meditation for over a decade. She has learned techniques from various traditions from around the world and personalizes the practice to suit the individual.

Mantra
Mantra is a word or series of words to assist concentration in meditation. A sacred prayer or incantation chanted in sanskrit can invoke the divinity within. Oftentimes referred to as the secret of the Gods. The term mantra comes from the root meaning, “that which protects the mind.”
Anything repeated in the mind has the ability to manifest in the outer world. An affirmation, a belief positive or negative can create a desired or undesired outcome. As one chants, speaks, repeats or thinks of a conscious word or series of words the energy and vibration of the individual can shift and miraculous changes can take place. Kate utilizes the power of mantra in her classes to train students to be mindful of what they think and speak.
